Mohegan Sun Arena | Uncasville, Connecticut
The Australian Pink Floyd Show is more than simply a tribute band, and they'll be performing at the Mohegan Sun Arena on September 23rd, 2023 as part of their 50th anniversary of The Dark Side Of The Moon. This is the only Pink Floyd concert you'll ever need to witness; in fact, David Gilmour personally requested them to play at his 50th birthday party, which should tell you something about how fantastic they are. Get your tickets now to the "Gold Standard" of Pink Floyd concerts, which is so faithful to the original that you won't believe it's a tribute!
Australian Pink Floyd not only resurrects the renowned sound of Pink Floyd, but they also miraculously capture and recreate the whole Pink Floyd Concert experience. The name gives it away; the band was formed in 1988 in Adelaide, South Australia. Vocalist/guitarist Steve Mac, keyboardist Jason Sawford, drummer Paul Bonney, vocalist/guitarist David Domminney Fowler, saxophonist Mike Kidson, vocalist/bassist Ricky Howard, vocalist/bassist Chris Barnes, and three gorgeous backup singers Emily Lynn, Lara Smiles, and Lorelei McBroom make up Australian Pink Floyd. Sound engineer Colin Norfield, who worked with Pink Floyd on both the 'Division Bell' tour and David Gilmour's solo tours, has also collaborated with touring musicians Guy Pratt, Durga McBroom, and Lorelei McBroom.
The event has a circular screen surrounded by smart lights. Movies and animations are shown onto screens during concerts to supplement the band's stage lighting. The band frequently uses inflatables in their performances, such as the pig from the Division Bell Tour and Skippy, the big pink kangaroo named after the Australian TV series Skippy The Bush Kangaroo.
The band have worked tirelessly to expand their fan base by releasing new music and performing for previously ignored parties. To prove that it is still all about the fantastic music of Pink Floyd and giving the finest performance possible every night, they now bring more creativity, and sustained effort, to some absolutely great crowds.
