Luis Miguel has been a popular figure in Latin pop music for virtually the entire duration of his career. It began in Mexico in 1981. He is the youngest male artist in music history to have won a Grammy, having done so at the age of 14 with his duet "Me Gustas Tal Como Eres" (with Sheena Easton). The RIAA named his 1991 album Romance as one of the best-selling Latin albums of all time in 1991. He was the first Latino artist to receive two platinum certifications for Spanish-language albums in the United States for Romance and Segundo Romance - the latter earning him 35 platinum records throughout Central and South America.
